Do you or your family have an immigration/migration story to share? Visit the Hart Cluett Museum for our Community Story Share event, August 22nd!
At the Hart-Cluett Museum, it is our mission to recognize every face and tell every story in Rensselaer County. Therefore, we are developing an upcoming exhibit that celebrates and honors immigrant and migrant communities in Rensselaer County, 1900-2027.
However, your help is needed!
On Saturday, August 22nd from 1 - 4pm, we are hosting a Community Story Share event. During this time, we invite individuals, families, and descendants of those who have immigrated or migrated to Rensselaer County in the past 100 years to share their story and artifacts they feel speak to the immigrant/migrant experience. We will be taking brief oral histories from willing individuals as well as documenting and photographing provided artifacts. Participating individuals will also have the opportunity to be photographed alongside their artifacts for posterity, if they wish to do so.
All those with a connection to current Rensselaer County migrant and immigrant communities and/or history are encouraged to stop by! We want to hear your story.
